GRIMALDI DEPLOYS THIRD VESSEL ON THE VENICE-BARI-PATRAS RO-RO SERVICE

Eurocargo Cagliari

The Grimaldi Group will further boost its maritime connections between Italy and Greece with the deployment of an additional vessel on the Venice-Bari-Patras service. From 4 May the Eurocargo Cagliari will join the Eurocargo Alexandria and Eurocargo Genova on the ro-ro line.

The Eurocargo Cagliari has a transport capacity of 3,850 linear meters (250 trailers); like the two ships already deployed on the service, she flies the Italian flag and is equipped with exhaust gas cleaning systems for the abatement of sulphur and particulate emissions.
With the introduction of the third ship on the line, the Grimaldi Group will offer additional departures from Patras to Bari and Venice (Wednesday at 8.00 am), from Venice to Bari and Patras (Friday at 6.00 pm), from Bari to Patras (Saturday at 6.00 pm) and from Bari to Venice (Thursday at 4.00 am). In total, the service will provide eight sailings per week from each of the three ports.
"The deployment of a third ship on the Venice-Bari-Patras line is the Grimaldi Group's answer to the need for more frequent, efficient and eco-sustainable transport services between Italy and Greece", stated Grimaldi Group Managing Director Emanuele Grimaldi. "This choice confirms not only the commitment to our customers, but also our high confidence in the potential of the Adriatic ports served by the line".
In addition to the Venice-Bari-Patras freight-only service, the Grimaldi Group operates the Brindisi-Igoumenitsa, Ancona-Igoumenitsa and Ancona-Patras routes for the transport of freight and passengers between Italy and Greece.
