UAE/DUBAI – Safe Cargo Operation during Port Stay

Ships calling at PCFC/DP World in the Emirates of Dubai are strictly required to comply with the requirements stipulated in SOLAS/LOADLINE/ISGOTT, IMO Codes for Safe Cargo Operation while the vessels are operating in Dubai Ports. As a minimum requirement, every vessel calling PCFC/DP World Ports in Dubai shall strictly comply with the following PCFC-EHS requirements:

• Have prepared/received their Cargo/Stowage Plan well in advance prior to commencement of the cargo operation in port;
• All necessary cargo details & manifest are provided, well in advance, to the vessel's Master by the Shipping Agent;
• Cargo Operation Safety Checklist/Ballast Plan shall be prepared & strictly observed;
• Vessel's Master & Officers on-board shall monitor the vessel's draft at regular intervals to ascertain that the cargo operation and condition of the vessel are as per the plan/departure condition;
• While in port, every vessel shall ensure, at any given time, that its stresses are within acceptable limits and stability condition is in strict compliance with SOLAS & Intact Stability Criteria;
• Any instruments, computers or software to determine the Stresses & Stability condition of the vessel, shall be approved by the vessel's Classification Society;
• Any contravention of the above mentioned requirements may result in appropriate sanctions, include fines, being imposed.
